In these last dog days of the season, I stopped by DQ today after treating Waylon to a frolic in the Mississippi. I wasn't sure what I was craving; just the idea of the ice cream stand jumped out at me on the drive home. Somehow, I was taken back to my favorite sundae from my childhood - a Dusty Road Sundae. The kid at the counter had never heard of it, but was able to make one with my ingredient list:
It is topped with thick hot fudge, a layer of malt powder, and I always toss some peanuts in. So it looks like tar and dust over ice cream. While looking on line, it seems they are somewhat unique to PA and maybe the rest of the world is missing out. Just saying...
