Cookie Party

All who know me are aware that baking is a large part of everyone in my family. Something we enjoy and have a natural knack for. Whether it is cherry pies for the 4th, pickles and jams in the Fall or dozens of cookies during numerous holiday seasons. Some fail in the recipe, but most taste well in the intent.

The annual cookie party has been going on for more than a decade now. It has seen great entries pushing the envelope of cut-out creativity. The last two years have extended beyond the Christmas season and it is seeming to be a good enough fit, that we will likely roll it forward. It is a chance to reconvene after the onslaught of the season. And it also gives us chance to use those rare cookie cutters that don't fall into the categories of Santa, bells or gingerbread men. Instead we can explore butterflies, frogs, teapots and even a map of the USA. I love that it continues from year to year with good friends.
