I was just shared this fabulous clip via Facebook. It is a stunning tribute to the London subway terror victims from 7/7/05. Instead our NBC coverage chose to cut away to a mundane interview of Michael Phelps and why he was unable to make the opening parade of athletes.
On watching this short 5 minute number, sung hauntingly by Emeli Sandé from Scotland, it is one of the finest moments of the ceremony. There is no reason on earth why it should have been pre-empted and makes for a terrible lack of judgment on their part. Here is hoping it will find the audience it so rightfully deserved.
